How to pray with Cover’d

Gentle answers for getting started, covering places, lifting up needs, churches, groups, and leading. Everyone can read every section. Links take you straight to the next step.

Getting started

Sign in, share a little about yourself, and find your church family.

What is Cover’d?

Cover’d—Covered in prayer—helps a church lift up real places nearby, day by day, and share needs with people who walk together. You can pray in secret. Together, we can cover the walls with prayer.

How do I begin?

Choose Get started and open the sign-in link we email you. On Profile, add your name and ZIP. Then Join a church and, when you’re ready, Join a group so others can welcome you.

How does sign-in work?

Cover’d uses a magic link—no password to remember. Use the same email your leaders put on the roster when they add you. Start from Get started.

Why ask for my ZIP?

Your ZIP gently centers the home map near you, so places to cover in prayer feel close at hand when you open Cover’d.

I’m signed in but not part of a church yet. What next?

Finish Profile, then Join a church. Belonging is how Cover’d gathers you with others to pray. Groups come after you’re part of a church—use Join a group when that door opens.

Covering places in prayer

The map, Prayer Health, and taking a day to lift up a place.

What’s on the home map?

Home shows approved places—schools, hospitals, churches, and more—on a map or list. Pin colors reflect Prayer Health for the period you choose. Open a place to see who’s covering which days and to take an open day yourself.

What is Prayer Health?

It’s a gentle picture of how covered a place is for the When filter you pick: Seeking, Yearning, Steady, Blessed, or Abundant. It helps the body notice where prayer is thin—not whether God has answered.

How do I take a day to pray for a place?

From the map or list, open a place. Choose a stretch of time with open days (or pick specific days), then cover it for yourself. One named person holds each place on each day—so the covering stays clear and shared.

Can I cover more than one day at a time?

Yes. Choose This week, the rest of the month, or another period—or pick a range on the calendar. You’ll see how many open days you’re taking before you confirm.

How do I suggest a new place?

Use Add a place. Share the name, type, and address. An app admin looks it over before it appears on the map for everyone.

What shows up in Inbox about places I’m covering?

Inbox includes days you’ve taken to pray for a place. It’s a quiet reminder to keep that appointment and mark that you prayed—not a scorecard.

Can I let go of a day I took?

Future days you hold can be released so someone else can cover them. For today and days already past, you’ll use the prayed / complete flow instead.

Lifting up needs

Asking others to pray with you, and how long a request stays visible.

How do I ask others to pray?

Open Ask for prayer. Share with your church and groups as the form allows. Write what people need to know so they can pray with you well.

How long do personal requests stay up?

About a week by default. You’ll be invited to renew. If you don’t, the request expires so the active list stays living—not because the prayer was unanswered.

How do I say whether people should keep praying?

As the one who asked, you mark Not yet (still being covered in prayer) or Yes (ready to acknowledge it has been answered), with an optional note in your own words. There is no No—Cover’d does not grade the prayer.

Churches & joining

Finding your church home on Cover’d and walking with its people.

How do I join a church?

Sign in, open Join a church, and ask for yours. A church admin reviews the request and approves when they recognize you.

What can I do as a church member?

Cover places in prayer from the home map, ask for prayer, join groups under your church, and see people you’re allowed to see. Profile is where you leave a church if you need to.

Is Cover’d only for church leaders?

No. Leaders help set the church up; members and groups keep places covered in prayer. Guests can read About and For your church before they sign in.

My church isn’t here yet. What then?

Visit For your church. You can share a note for your leaders or ask to bring a church in. An app admin helps set the church up.

Groups

Every group belongs to a church. Here’s how members and leaders walk together.

How do groups relate to a church?

Every group sits under a church home. Shared prayer and people stay connected under that roof. You may belong to more than one group.

How do I join a group?

Use Join a group, pick a group from churches you can see, and ask to join. A group admin can welcome you. You’ll need to join a church first.

What does a group member do day to day?

Take days to cover places in prayer, walk with needs shared in the group, and check Inbox for what you’ve taken on.

Who can join my group if I lead it?

People ask from Join a group. Review requests on your group’s page and approve those who belong.

Leading

For church and group admins who welcome people and help keep places covered.

What can I do as a church admin?

Approve people who ask to join, review bring or leadership notes when they appear, see your church’s people, and help groups stay connected. You share the same home map as every member.

How do people join our church?

They sign in, open Join a church, and ask for yours. You’ll see requests in your church tools. Approve when you recognize them—Cover’d does not grade prayer; it gathers people to pray.

How do I assign days for my group to cover a place?

Open a place from the map, pick a period (or specific days), then choose For my group. Assign among signed-in group members at random, or choose one person. Only future open days can be taken.

What if a member hasn’t signed in yet?

They can be on the roster by email. Taking days to pray and some tools need a signed-in account on that email—invite them to Get started, open the magic link, and finish Profile.

Where do I manage people?

Open your church or group from the pages you’re allowed to see. Keep names and emails accurate so members can find one another.
